Today we’re featuring an absolutely beautiful wedding from the beaches of Costa Rica. Vanessa and Josh married on January 18th, 2018. “Josh and I are the tale of “opposites attract.” We have a difference in views, backgrounds and a good amount of “likes”, that was no different when it came to our dream weddings,” real bride Vanessa explains. “He proposed on April 1st 2017 (yeah, april fools day!) overlooking the ocean in Half Moon Bay, Ca. Full of emotion and endorphins, our friends who were there to witness asked “Where are you going to get married?” To which he without hesitation and surprisingly replied “On the beach in Costa Rica.” My tears of excitement turned into tears of overwhelming joy as I knew right then, my dreams had become his and he waited for the perfect moment to let me know.”
The wedding was not only breathtakingly gorgeous, but also close and intimate for the couple. “My brother married us less than a year later overlooking the ocean, just as we did when Josh proposed, surrounded by 30 of our closest family and friends. Everything about the day was absolute perfection from the all white guest attire to the sun dipping into the ocean during our first dance. We opted out of the traditional wedding party and DJ’d dance floors for a barefoot cocktail hour featuring coconut mojitos served in fresh coconuts and dinner in the sand as the waves crashed next to us.”
Vanessa wore our Sandy gown and it fit the whole theme of the day perfectly. The beautiful bride purchased from Lovely Bride in Dallas, TX. “I actually planned on purchasing a vintage gown from a resale shop. Something about the lace designs from previous generations called to me. I decided during my hunt to invite my family and girlfriends to go with me to a couple traditional shops just to have the full giddy experience, but only for inspiration. I tried on a lot of dresses and the theme all seemed to end with my love for Theia. It wasn’t until I tried on MY dress that everyone in the room gasped, and I had to keep the tears from ruining my eyeliner. It was every bit of what I envisioned but also so much more. I wanted to look like a effortless, bohemian, beach goodness and I felt exactly like it!”
Congratulations to Vanessa and Josh! We are so excited to share this wedding today. Enjoy!
